The number of coins that a Ledger Nano hardware wallet can hold depends on the specific model of the device and the supported cryptocurrencies. Both Ledger Nano S and Ledger Nano X support a wide range of cryptocurrencies, including popular ones like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Litecoin, and many others.
In practical terms, Ledger Nano devices can store an extensive list of cryptocurrencies, with over 1,500 supported coins and tokens at the time of my last update. This includes major cryptocurrencies as well as many altcoins and ERC-20 tokens.
The storage capacity of a Ledger Nano device is not determined by the number of coins it can hold, but rather by the device's internal memory capacity, which can accommodate multiple cryptocurrency apps simultaneously. Users can manage and switch between different cryptocurrencies using the Ledger Live software application.
It's essential to note that while Ledger Nano devices can support a wide range of cryptocurrencies, the device's storage capacity is limited. If you want to manage a large number of different cryptocurrencies simultaneously, you may need to uninstall apps for less frequently used coins to free up space on the device and install apps for other cryptocurrencies as needed.
